Waterproof Principle 14 - God wants more for you

Hi there all readers and welcome! We are on the 14th of 30 Waterproof Principles; Truth Principles to keep the roof and other nagging house leaks from ruining good character and good work already built into your life. This particular Principle is yet a sensitive subject. Not one I have yet mastered, but by the Grace of God, and with God all things are possible. One can compare it to smoking cigarettes: Nothing good comes from it! (Somewhere along the line your body will start to display the consequences of your actions) There is no good outcome to the wrong response; a Gentle response defuses anger, a sharp tongue doesn't. It is quite simple but not that simple in practice. When you're all charged up, maybe late for work, under financial stress, and things are not quite going the way you planned... Unfortunately, the ones who get hurt are usually those closest to you. Husband, wife, children ... It is a killer of life and all things good. The good news and the ba

Special Celebration Insert - The "Poppestrond" Award

What a joy to announce the 50th Birthday of my dear Aunt Naomi - 25 April. Over the long weekend  family and friends are celebrating her 50th Birthday. This is a mountain mark of a celebration as my aunt has survived the toughest of tough circumstances throughout her life. Hence the "Poppestrond" Award... Now, this award, in our family, directly (loosely) translated, it means "Doll-Poop"... Now you are probably saying: What!? ...... In our family, if the going gets tough we help each other on by saying: Come, come, you'll get through this, you were not made from doll poop. and as you know, a doll has no poop, so... What we're actually saying is: You're not made from Nothing, apply what you know is good and true and get on with it. This too shall pass!" Because Naomi has had it rough for a few years already. The award is hers until further notice ... She is a testimony of life, joy and perseverance which reminds one of the lif

Waterproof Principle 13 - Broken Love ...

"I am careful not to confuse  excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for;  perfection is God's business." Michael J Fox Hi there you, and welcome! In my almost 30 years of life, I have pondered the Brokenness of the human race and how God has made a mosaic out of those same broken pieces. Like the song lyrics from Bebo Norman's song, Ruins ... "Let my Ruins become the ground you build upon..." ....so beautiful. Broken Love... We live in a broken world. We have all rejected, hurt and have  been hurt, misunderstood, neglected by someone, along the lines of life... some of us have been broken, into what feels to be beyond repair... by the closest or most  influential person in our lives... a Parent, a Sibling, a Spouse or a church leader. We fight and face the consequences -  the broken, scattered pieces, of others choices made over us daily. One person has the power to damage ano

Waterproof - Principle 12

"Dear brothers and sisters,  when trouble comes your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your  faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow." James 1:2,3 Did Jesus ever promise us rosy circumstances? When you become a christian  you'll wake up to a rainbow each morning, with everyone's warm smiles greeting you. Your children will always be clean, healthy..the white fence and all that... Like the slogan on my pajamas says: "Wakey, wakey, tea and cakey..." Last night I watched a film, a testimony of a Muslim gentleman in Africa. He was a strong Muslim and spiritual leader in his village. He went to sleep one night and Jesus appeared to him in a dream.  Jesus told him He loved him. He showed him that he wanted him to read the Bible,  The word of God. He also said, No one can come to the Father except through me. He had numerous dreams after this and consequently decided to acce

Jesus is Alive and Well : "Waterproof Principle 11 - Narrow is the Gate ..."

With another wonderful long weekend, we are celebrating the gift of true life in Him. This is the most important yearly celebration.  Isn't God and the way He opened up for us the reason for our Faith?  Resting in God, Trusting Him for his promise of Provision...The Lamb that was slain... Acts 2:26-28   "And so I am filled with gladness, and my words are full of joy. And I, mortal though I am, will rest  assured in hope ... because you will not abandon me in the world of the dead; you will not allow your faithful servant to rot in the grave. You have shown me the paths that lead to life , and your presence will fill me with joy." Heb 4:6   Those who first heard the Good News did not receive that rest ,  because they did not believe . There are, then, others who are allowed to receive it.  Being a faithful servant ... it requires faith in God and acting on your faith. No Matter how you may FEEL. Do not allow your emotions to

Waterproof - Principle 10

Isn't it easy to Praise God when circumstances, people and situations are close to perfect?  Snuggle and Warm in your 'kingdom of comfort?' :R E A L I T Y  C H E C K: We were made to Glorify God. It's all about Him because He is. I am the Great I am If you were diagnosed with cancer today ... the WAY which you HANDLE the situation, irrespective of the fact that you will die soon or go into remission, THAT is your worship to God. That is how people will see the glory of God through your life... "Wow, God must be really great for her to Praise Him even though she has cancer. God is bigger than this cancer is in her life" What is the "Cancer" in your life? Don't Get up in the morning and say ... "this is going to be a great day!" Like my brother says : "You'll be dissapointed before 10am!"   Today will have a few troubles up its sleeve...Rahter say,  God is great today no mat
